Dairy: cheese, cheese sticks, yogurt, skim milk, hardboiled eggs, cottage cheese. Grains: must be whole grain—crackers, bread, triscuits, multigrain wraps, rice cakes, popcorn, sun chips, nutri-grain bars, pretzels or granola bars.
Fruit: Fresh or frozen. Meat: beef sticks, meat roll ups, turkey, ham or pepperoni.
Vegetables: Fresh, you may send a dip. Beverages: 100 % juice, skim milk.
Birthday snacks can be your choice.

Snack time will be arranged on a self-serve basis during free choice time. All children will have time for snack. No lunch meal is provided.

We celebrate each child’s birthday by assigning a special snack and star day around the time on his/her birthday. For children with summer birthdays, we arrange the child’s celebration during the month of May. On these days, your child may bring special birthday treats that are not normally part of everyday snacks. Examples include, but are not limited to, birthday cake/cupcakes, ice cream, cookies, etc.
     **We ask that invitations to birthday parties not be passed out at school.
 

Each child will have a turn at being “Star of the Week”. The calendar you will
receive at the beginning of each month will indicate on what day your child will be
the star. On that day, your child may bring a favorite item from home to share
with his/her classmates and teachers. Parents and grandparents are welcome to
visit during the child's star time. Due to changes in the Department of Human
Services regulations, no reptiles are allowed in the preschool. Your child may
choose to bring a family pet on star days as long as the pet’s immunization
records are up to date and provided to the teachers at the time of the visit.

*2023 photo "Love Bug" Family Fun Night
Each year we enjoy an evening of fun with all our preschool families. This is a great opportunity for families to get to know one another and watch their children play with their friends. From yummy snacks to fun hands on crafts, our family fun night is a joy for all ages. 

 

*2022 Photo Kiwanis Kids Day Parade
Each September St Mary Preschool takes part in the annual Kiwanis Kid's Day Parade in Fairfield. Your child will have the option of riding on our school float. 

 

• Backpacks - Please send a backpack that is large enough to accommodate art projects. We use a lot of 11"x11" sized paper. Please make sure to label your child's bag with their name. 

• Extra clothes - Accidents occassionally happen, please make sure to place an extra outfit with socks in a seperate bag (ziplock bag for example) in your child's backpack. 

• Please do not send water bottles. We provide the children with water any time they request it and we have drinks with snack.
